About Us

The Blue Angel and Dr Wiedermann are the finest and only exponents of Brechtian punk cabaret.  They perform music and spoken word that traces their lives as performers in Weimar Berlin.  Comical and philosophical, the Blue Angel and Dr Wiedemann’s music has elements of German rockabilly, they are ethereal characters embedded in the bygone Weimar era.

Where do popular icons come from?  The Blue Angel and Dr Wiedemann’s music looks at the origins of what inspired a woman on her journey to fame, and what happened to those that were left behind.  The music traces the Blue Angel’s life as a performer in Weimar Berlin, her untimely death and acceptance of living in the nether world as a spirit.  The Blue Angel is accompanied by her faithful and dearly departed sidekick, Dr Wiedemann.

What We Bring

The Blue Angel and Dr Wiedemann recently won an award for "Best Cabaret" at the Nimmitabel SteamPunk@Altitude Festival.  Their show is an intimate look at the Blue Angel’s life as a performer in Weimar Berlin and her untimely death and acceptance of living in the nether world as a spirit.  This show is ideal for a sit down crowd over dinner and drinks.  This show is best performed in front of a crowd that is keen to listen while being thoroughly entertained.
