Why regional music festivals are upstaging their city competitors.  ​When it comes to music festivals, regional Australia is giving the capital cities a run for their money.  Tickets to boutique gatherings sell out in minutes, while more high profile events in capital cities have gone bust.  Read this article on ABC online.

​Ticket holder right to refunds reminder.  When Danish pop singer MO and English grime rapper Stormzy pulled out of separate Australian music festivals, fans who paid hundreds of dollars were left fuming.  But at least they were entitled to a refund, or should have been.  This article from the Australian discusses ticket holder rights.

Three-day music festival heading to Campbelltown, NSW.  A three-day music festival will be coming to Campbelltown before June next year.  Campbelltown Council announced it had received a $20,000 grant to make the event – set to be named Campbelltown bEat Street – a reality.  Read this Wollondilly Advertiser article here.

Australia's Music Festival Attendance Figures Just Took A Massive Drop.  Live Performance Australia’s just-released 2016 Ticket Attendance and Revenue Survey shows that festival attendance was down almost 50 per cent between 2016 and 2015, after a number of increases in previous years.  Read the full musicfeeds.com.au article here.

Nude, rude and rockin': new book tells all about Sunbury rock festival.  Today, the band Queen is rock royalty but at the 1974 Sunbury rock festival, they were unknowns who were treated with contempt.  Their glam outfits stood out among the jeans and T-shirts, and they were seen as foreign interlopers amid the wave of Aussie pub rock.  Full article from The Age here.
