About Us
|
Rosalind is both a captivating performer and talented song-writer, who creates deeply personal rock music, influenced by her roots in Portuguese fado and American folk music.
Rosalind released her debut, self-titled EP in September. Through her EP, Rosalind “introduces herself as a talented, emotionally-aware and captivating storyteller in just four standout tracks” (Forte Magazine). Rosalind wrote and performed A Dreamer’s Guide to Reality, a rock cabaret in the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2019. It received 4/5 stars from Beat Magazine as Rosalind’s “stunning songwriting” and “affinity for self expression is amplified by the tight knit nature of her and her band” Rosalind is inspired by the fado music of her Portuguese heritage and the American folk and country music she grew up with, drinking in the talents of Joan Baez, Dolly Parton and Carly Simon. Later, she fell in love with rock and now counts Florence + the Machine and Hozier amongst her influences. |

"Written and performed by Rosalind and her five-piece rock band, A Dreamer’s Guide to Reality takes us on a journey of self-exploration. From nostalgic tales of Rosalind’s childhood to the effects of climate change, every song gives the audience time to reflect on themselves." More ... Holly Denision, beat.com.au, Review "... this folk rock song takes the listener on a journey from being lost, alone, and broken down to growing into someone stronger than anyone could imagine." More ... The Music Below, Single Review |
"There’s a couple of reasons to love an EP – it’s the first taste of a fresh-faced talent, it’s short and sweet with consistent sounds, ideas and stories, and finally, it’s a showcase of what the artist thinks best represents them coming out as a songwriter and musician. Rosalind, checks off all three of these components in her debut self-titled album." More ... Tammy Walters, Forte, Album Review "‘Ruins’ is a burst of reggae-tinged alt-rock, that sucks us in with its heady grooves while packing a punch with an empowering message." More ...
