Songwriting is a driving part of musician Amanda Emblem who has been performing as a vocalist and guitarist under various guises since her teenage years.
This music journey has taken her far and wide and won various accolades in her career, fronting various bands, and her experiences vary from entertaining Australian and international Troops in war zones across the world to the stadiums of Australia and New Zealand opening for megastars such as Kiss and Aerosmith. Amanda’s songs have gained her international attention. Her music has been played all over the world, both as recorded tunes as well as live, across Europe and some Middle East countries. She was acknowledged in the USA as Akademia Artist of the Year in 2019 (announced April 2020), with two of her songs winning awards in the Folk categories gaining high rotation airplay within the Akademia radio syndicates world wide. Amanda’s Debut album “Who Is Amanda Emblem?” Charted on the Australian Blues and Roots Chart in May 2018, touring nationally with Robert Cray (USA). Recorded in two countries (Australia and Sweden) and produced by Paul McKercher, the album is a great way to discover the impressive vocal stylings sand songwriting prowess of Amanda Emblem. Amanda’s most recent EP “Beautiful Blues” released late 2020 features Amanda’s most popular song to date 'Mary Mary” culminating unprecedented video views for the act on YouTube and Streams on Spotify. The EP also charted well on the Australian Blues and Roots Charts, despite its more folk rock leanings, and was featured on ABC Radion sunshine Coast as an EP of the Week in March 2021. A prolific writer, Amanda is currently recording a new album of original tunes, a project she expects will be ongoing for most of 2021 due to the number of great new songs in waiting. 2021 has seen Amanda reach out to build her live band and incorporating a flute into the mix, as well as harmonica, working with a variety of musicians who reside in the Mary Valley Region, where she resides as well as session musicians on saxophone, bass and lead guitar to complete the full band experience when required. Mostly she performs as a two or three piece, which lends itself to the folk direction of her newer material. Amanda Emblem’s most recent notable performance was ”Dinner Under The Stars” Event at Easter 2021 in Imbil, Qld. She opened (with her band) Redgum’s John Schumann to an appreciative capacity audience. Previous Festival performances include Gympie Music Muster, Blues at Bridgetown, Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues, a guest spot at Byron Bay Bluesfest (singing with Chain) and Rocking for the Homeless. |
