About Us
|
Jaspora is a Soca / Calypso / Sega / Tropical Reggae band performing music from all around the Caribbean and Africa.
We bring you the smooth groovy vibes of Calypso, the high energy and that crazy dancing feeling of Soca as well as those off beats of Jamaican Reggae. We also trek to Africa to bring you Soukous, a feel good uplifting funky African genre as well as a quick paddle across the sea to Mauritius for some hip shaking Sega and Seggae music! Pack all of this into a non-stop live show with improvisation, grooves all night, feel good times and you have the Jaspora experience! Jaspora appeals to audiences of all ages, and guarantees a fantastic time, with everyone grooving on the dance floor! The band consists of our amazing front woman and singer Tessa, who belts out the Soca all night while dancing up a storm; our front man Luc, who channels a year 2000’s version of Lord Kitchener, in addition to percussion; Dan our lead guitarist who burns out the crazy soca lines all night; Nat our super talented and super spooky pianist and keyboard player with her infectious latin and horn lines; Tim our grooving Bass player who grooves it all night and introducing Marvin, as our crazy man on the drums who won’t stop til morning! Jaspora have been performing in the Melbourne gig scene for 5 years as well as many local festivals, private events and major Melbourne events such as Moomba. |
