Queensland Music Award Finalist, International Unsigned Only Winner and Regional Arts Development Fund Grant recipient, Abi Muir, is a young singer songwriter from Cairns with distinctive vocals and heartfelt lyrics.
Abi immediately hooks the listener with goosebump-inducing vocals reminiscent of Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish, captivating her audience with her unique indie-pop sound. From the wistful, dreaminess of her debut single heebiejeebies, to her high energy, subtly sarcastic dance track First Date, Abi’s creative storytelling from her youthful perspective releases a rush of emotions and memories for her audience. From humble Highland beginnings on the tiny Isle of Barra in Scotland, Abi has already managed to collect an incredible number of accolades to her name, and has caught the attention of industry professionals. After receiving a RADF grant, she has worked for the last year on producing her 5-song debut EP with her band, whilst also completing her grade 12 exams! With dramatic strings and powerful drum lines supporting emotive vocals, this EP shows the growth and maturity developing in this young artist. Abi’s debut EP is scheduled for release March 2022. Abi has previously been recognised by the Cairns Regional Council as an Australia Day Junior Cultural Award recipient, and is locally recognised as a triple threat performer, captivating those who have seen her on stage. Abi was the only student from Cairns selected as a Featured Vocalist at Creative Generation 2019, Queensland’s largest youth performing arts show at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Here, she impressed the industry panel of judges with her vocal skills, stage presence and performance dedication, and from this was also selected as a featured soloist, making her TV debut in their highlights show on Channel 10. It was after winning the Cairns Dinner Theatre Singing competition in January 2018 that Abi’s journey began. She was inspired to start writing and recording her own songs in her parents garage, and following the release of heebiejeebies she quickly gained popularity collecting fans and followers from around the World. Her homemade video for this song won the Port Shorts Film Festival Music Video Shout Out Award and started her music video creative journey, which saw her work with professional film-makers on the production of her First Date music video. This project took out the Best Music Video Award at Understory Film Festival and, as Abi’s debut as a film director, it is just the start of a bright future in all things musical for Abi. |

What We Bring

Abi and her band will perform up to a 1 hour set of predominantly original songs including her 5 song debut EP of indie pop-rock. Combining Abi's youthful Ariana Grande style vocals combined with her band members from a progressive rock background create a distinctive energy on stage.
With a growing fan base, Abi was recently invited to co-headline at the Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns and their performance received great reviews. Abi was a QMA Finalist in 2021 and is a Finalist again this year, and has award winning music videos under her belt too. |
