About Us
|
Aren Syren on vocals and Lesa Godden, guitars, have headed up The RAWNCHI Band since the all-girl line up’s guitarist had to leave in 2015.
With a change of drummer, and addition of a harp man, the now mixed band began picking up traction playing around their native Northern Rivers, NSW, until a drummers’ knee injury again put the band out of action. The original bass player Mari Moir went on to other projects and the girls took a break to regroup. When they put out a call for an engine room, late 2019, Steve Dixon, Australia’s ghost drummer extraordinaire with a long who’s-who of albums and tours under his belt, accompanied by seasoned bass man Bobbe Thornton, answered the call and THE RAWNCHI BAND are rolling again and set to tour and record. On the side, luthier and composer Lesa Godden is releasing her solo album in December, Sounds of Ironbach and lyricist, Aren Syren is busy writing new material for RAWNCHI’s debut album that heads into Lucky Boy studio in Byron Bay to record the first single release, Fake News, on the 1st November, soon to be followed by the release of a surprise collaboration project as a tribute for one of Australia’s greatest songwriters. |
What We Bring
